The Marshmallow Challenge

Have you heard about The Marshmallow Challenge? For MATHS WEEK 2019 our principal, Mrs. Costello challenged us with the Marshmallow Challenge. With 20 sticks of dry spaghetti, one metre of masking tape, one metre of string and a marshmallow, the students from 3rd Class to 6th were asked to see what was the tallest free standing structure they could build. Some classes did this last year too. They learned that the secret of success is a wide, solid base. Do this and you will build bigger and better free standing structures. Ms. Donnelly’s 5th Class were the winners. Leon, Jamie, Tulga and Chester succeeded in building the highest structure. It measured 56cm.
