Saint Brigid’s National School, is a primary school situated in the centre of Greystones, Co. Wicklow. Our mission is to provide the highest quality education for all our children in a happy, safe and stimulating Christian environment, focusing on their academic, social, personal, moral and spiritual development to help them be the best they can be.

It is that time of year again, where WEATHER can be unpredictable. The school has efficient systems in place for communicating school closures to parents. In the event of heavy snow or other high risk weather conditions, please do not ring the school as once any decision on a weather related closure is made by the Board of Management parents will be informed. A message will go home on the Aladdin Connect App. or by test to those who have not signed up to Aladdin yet. We will also post a notice on this: the school website and on Class Dojo. Please make sure that the school has your most up to date number so that we can text you.

Remember it is unlikely the school would shut unless there was a red warning in the area, or if there were specific conditions in the local area that would make coming to school unsafe. As a rule of thumb we will always do our best to stay open unless the conditions become unsafe. We will be guided in this by the directions from the Minister and Department of Education. We will be following reports from Met Eireann and the National Emergency Co-ordination Committee that convenes when the weather is bad.
