Newsletter 5 – Sept 29th 2023
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
I hope you all had a good week.
For all you golf enthusiasts out there, this weekend is an important one for you as the Ryder Cup kicks off today in Rome. A number of boys and girls from the school play golf and each year our school participate in the Delgany Schools Golf Competition winning it on more than one occasion.
Parents Association AGM and Open Night – It was lovely to see so many of you at the school last Monday night. I hope you enjoyed your visit to your child’ classroom and got an opportunity to see where your child spends much of their day. A big thank you to the PA for organising the teas at the AGM and to Sheena for updating us on the great work of the PA over the course of the last year.
Boys Gaelic Blitz Unfortunately this had to be postponed due to the bad weather.
Sponsored Walk – We are all looking forward to our sponsored walk today. There is a real buzz about the place and the children are excited about spending time out of the classroom. To date we have raised €4085.50 which is absolutely amazing. Thank you to everyone who has supported us so generously and to all the parents who have volunteered to help. We couldn’t do it without you.
Walk to School Week 2023 – Next week is Walk to School Week. It is a five-day celebration of walking, and we would encourage as many students as possible to get active and walk to school instead of being driven. Walking to school is one of the best ways to start the day, with multiple benefits to children’s physical and mental health. It also has a positive impact on academic performance and behaviour, with higher levels of concentration. So boys and girls let’s get walking.
Happy Birthday – Special birthday greetings go out to Brodie Higgins (8yrs), Lucas Starke (5yrs), Margaret Guerreiro Vicente (8yrs), Adam O’ Brien (5yrs), Michael Fioraso (7yrs), Freddie Ward (10yrs), Emily Cole (9yrs), and Christopher Roche (12yrs), who are all celebrating birthdays this week. Breithlá sona daoibh go léir

The coordinator has written to say that they need a minimum of 20 students to run the club. Frásaí na Seachtaine * 4 * – Labhair Gaeilge linn le do thoil – sa bhaile agus ar scoil! This week’s phrase is:“Feicfidh mé tú amárach.”
That’s all the news for now. Until next week.
Slán sabháilte.
