The parents' association
Welcome! At St. Brigid’s N.S. we have an active Parents’ Association. We work in partnership with the school principal, staff and Board of Management to build close links between the school and home on a range of matters, including offering support to the school.
As a parent/guardian in St. Brigid’s N.S. you are automatically a member of the Parents’ Association and input is welcome at all times and we are always on the look out for new ideas so please do get involved.
We meet once a month during school term time, normally on a Monday evening at 8pm in the school, over a cup of tea or coffee. Dates of meeting will be circulated at the beginning of the school year and in advance of each meeting. We look forward to meeting you there.
Our Mission
Our mission as St. Brigid’s N.S. Parents’ Association is to work in partnership with the Principal, Board of Management and the whole school community for the betterment of the children in the school and to support and empower parents to be active in the best interests of their children’s educational lives.
We are members of the National Parents Council (NPC)
NPC exists to ensure that all parents are supported and empowered to become effective partners in their children’s education. Visit npc.ie for more information.

Prinicipal
For the kids – the time, energy and expertise that parents or guardians can provide enhances and adds to what they already get in school – it gives them a ‘value added experience’. They actually enjoy seeing their parents in school and it reinforces the value of school in their eyes – if you’re willing to give your time and effort, then maybe they should too!
For the school – parents who help out often get a better perspective on how busy and challenging school life can be and that can be invaluable in building better home-school relationships. There are a lot of activities that would be much harder to run without the practical help of parents, from sports days to walks to school tours.
For you – an understanding of school life, an appreciation of the importance of the educational experience your child is having, a chance to meet other parents and form friendships and support groups and at the risk of sounding a bit cheesy, personal fulfilment!

You MUST be garda Vetted to volunteer
Any person helping in the school in any way requires Garda Vetting. If you plan to help in the school (e.g. Sports Day, School Tours, The PA, After-school Activities) please download and complete a Garda Vetting Form & Garda Vetting Invitation Form and submit them along with the appropriate forms of ID.
How to get involved
Remember, as a parent of a child attending St Brigid’s you are automatically a member of The PA. We would love to hear from you if you would like to volunteer some time to contribute to our activities. If you have knowledge or expertise in any of the areas outlined above, then even better, but this is not required. All are welcome!
