Sponsored Walk – Our sponsored walk took place on today. The excitement of the children was electric and they were excellent ambassadors for St. Brigid’s. A huge thank you to all the parents who helped and supported. This is one of our main fundraisers for the year and we really appreciate any support you can give us to make this a successful event. The Aladdin payment link is still active.
3rd – 6th Class Camogie – Well done to the 3rd- 6th girls who played in a Camogie Blitz on Thursday 23rd October. They had lots of fun playing against different schools from Greystones and Bray. Thank you to Ms Teehan and the parent volunteers for going along.
St Brigid’s Social Media– Last week we launched our social media account @stbrigidsgreystones. We hope it will help keep our community more connected, informed, and engaged in the exciting events and achievements happening at our school.
Junior Infant Open Night – On Wednesday 16th October we will be hosting an Open Evening for parents of children starting junior infants in September 2025. The evening will include a short presentation, a visit to the classrooms, hearing from 6th class pupils about their experiences and an opportunity to meet with our afterschool club.
Admissions for first years in Greystones for 2025/2026 – St. David’s Secondary School, Temple Carrig Secondary School and Greystones Community College are currently accepting applications for First Years for 2025/26. The closing date for receipt of applications is Monday October 21st at 4pm.
We would strongly recommend that all 6th class pupils apply to all three schools to ensure a local school place is secured for next year.
Christmas Cards The children had great fun designing their own personalised cards at school this week. I know it is still only October but we need to plan ahead to ensure our cards are ready on time. A big thank you to all the teachers, Tara, Carol and the PA for organising this for us. The cards will be sent to the printers in the coming weeks.
Margaret Aylward Day – Next Friday is Margaret Aylward’s Feast Day. Margaret was the founder of the Holy Faith Order who were responsible for setting up St. Brigid’s NS. over 100 years ago. Mr. Dodd’s class will lead prayers and a candle will be lighting at our sacred space in the hallway throughout the day. We wish all a Happy Margaret Aylward Day and we share this day with our fellow Holy Faith Schools and the Holy Faith Congregation who continue her mission today.
Céad Míle Fáilte – We welcome Ms. Fiona Gillan to our teaching Staff. Fiona will be working as an EAL Teacher at the school.
