Infant and 1st Class Christmas Plays – Well done to the boys and girls in our Junior Infants,
Senior Infants and First Classes who put on their Nativity Plays for their parents and families
last week. The boys and girls were amazing. Maith sibh a pháistí. We are so lucky to have you all
in our school. A huge thank you to the teachers who work so hard to prepare the children for
such a milestone in their time at school.
5th, and 6th Class Christmas Carol Service – Congratulations to all the boys and girls in our 5th
and 6th classes on their wonderful performance at our annual Christmas Carol Service in Holy
Rosary Church on Thursday evening. It was a very special night. A special thank you to all our 5th
and 6th class teachers and to Joan from Music Generation who made this night possible.
Christmas Jumper Day in Aid of SVP – The children can wear a Christmas jumper or Christmas
accessory to school on Friday 20th December in aid of the St. Brigid’s SVP Christmas Collection.
This will go a long way to providing support for families in Greystones who are struggling this
Christmas. Mile buíochas.
Happy Birthday – 6 children celebrated birthdays at the school last week. They are Jessica
Tierney (12yrs), Millie Pike (10yrs), Ellen Mullen (10yrs), Holly Brennan (6yrs), Lucy Carney (9yrs),
Darragh Holohan (12yrs). Happy birthday to you all and enjoy your special day.
Christmas Decorations Competition
Congratulations to Lily who won runner up in the Wicklow County Recycled Decoration
competition. Congratulations to Ivo who came in first place. Both children attended a
presentation evening in the Wicklow County Council offices this week. Well done!!
Visit to the Whale Theatre:
We are delighted to announce that the children will be visiting the Whale Theatre on Wednesday
18th and Thursday 19th December to watch a Christmas movie. A payment link has been sent on
Aladdin. Please see timetable in email sent.
Gaeilge – Frásaí na Seachtaine # 12 – This week’s phrase is: “An bhfuil cead agam an
fhuinneog a oscaily? Tá/Níl” (May I open the window? Yes/No)
School Calendar The last of the school Calendars (€15) are available to purchase from the
school office. The Calendars would make a lovely present for someone special at Christmas.
Advent 2024 – Sunday the 15th December is the third Sunday of Advent. The Third Sunday of
Advent is known as “Gaudete Sunday.” Gaudete means “rejoice!” We can mark the day by
engaging in family activities that can inject some joy into our homes.

Congratulations to Lola in 1st class who won a number of swimming medals last week.

Christmas Holidays – Friday 20th December marks the beginning of the school Christmas
holidays. All classes will finish school at 12pm. The school will reopen for the new term on
Monday 6th January.
Finally, we appreciate that Christmas can be an expensive and stressful time for families. If we
