Newsletter 10 – Nov 10th, 2023
Dear Parents/ Guardians,
I hope you have all had a good week. It was lovely to welcome the children back to school after the midterm break. They all looked well relaxed and ready for the term ahead which is always a busy one.
Thank you to everyone who gave so generously to our Halloween Fundraiser. We raised €1.157.68 which exceeded all expectations. The parents and 6th class pupils and who helped with our Cake Sale on 27th October deserve a special mention.
Admissions for Junior Infants 2024-2025 – Enrolment for Junior Infants for 2024/2025 opened on Monday 6th November 2023. Boys Gaelic Blitz– 14 of our boys headed off to Bray yesterday to participate in a friendly Gaelic Blitz. They really enjoyed the experience, and we are so proud of how they represented St. Brigid’s on the day. Maith sibh a bhuachaillí. Thank you to Ms. Horan and parent Lynne Sheehan who accompanied them to this event.
Nomination and Election of Parents to 2023-2027 Board of Management An email was sent to all parents/guardians about this yesterday,
Gaeilge – Frásaí na Seachtaine # 9 – This week’s phrase is: “Aon scéal ?” (Any news?)
Friendship Week – We will be celebrating Friendship Week at the school next Week. Ms. Corcoran and the Well Being Team have been busy behind the scenes preparing for the week and have planned some fun whole school activities for the children.
The first is a collaborative display based on the ‘Key to a Good Friend’. Each class will brainstorm the qualities/traits of a good friend. Each child will then record a quality that they think is important on an A3 class key and then all 18 keys will be displayed together on the public notice board outside my office. Feel free to drop in and have a look when it is completed.
The second is the launch of our Buddy System which will see older classes buddying up with our younger classes to organise fun activities to celebrate Friendship Week and going forward the idea would be that paired classes would meet up once a month to do something fun together.
Finally, similar to last year, the ‘Drop Everything and Reflect’ lesson for Anti-Bullying Week / Friendship Week will be delivered to all classes throughout the school.

Thank You – A big thank you to parent Richie Murray who has constructed a new backdrop for our stage. The old one was well past its sell by date.
