Newsletter 19 – Jan 26th 2024

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

That week went by in flash. I can’t believe it is Friday already.

Birthday Greetings – This week was a very popular week for birthdays at the school – twelve in total. Happy birthday to Jack Clarken (12yrs), Erin Williams (9yrs), Finn Osborne (10yrs), Robert Diegmann Feeney (7yrs), Sadie O’Dwyer (7yrs), Cillian Hickey (6yrs), James Elliot (12yrs), Mark O Neill (8yrs), Lillian O’ Neill (8yrs), Chloe Loftus (11yrs), Joseph Morrisey (6yrs) and Senan Cribbin (8yrs), We hope you all enjoy your birthdays.

School Attendance this week – 95.5%. Excellent attendance at school is important to allow children to be the best that they can be. Let’s make every school day count.

Grandparents Day – Wednesday 24th January was a very special day at St. Brigid’s. We had over 140 Grandparents visit our school as part of Catholic Schools Week. The children really enjoyed just sitting with the Grandparents and listening to stories of days gone by and learning things they might not learn in school.

We have had a number of emails from parents saying how much the Grandparents enjoyed their time at the school and were already looking forward to next year’s visit. A big thank you to the children, Mr. Dodd and all the staff at the school, the Parents Association and the Student Council who helped make the day such a huge success.

Camogie Blitz – Congratulations to our girls’ camogie team who won four of their five matches at a Camogie Blitz yesterday. They really enjoyed participating in this event and can be so proud of how they performed on the day. A big thank you to Ms. Teehan and Mum Eimear Doran who accompanied them to the Blitz.
