Information about preventing the spread of COVID-19 in school

This is a new tab added to the school website menu on 12th August 2020. Here you will find all the information relevant to COVID-19, preventing its spread in St. Brigid’s NS, Greystones and other related matters. In this way all the information will be to hand in one place. New information will be also posted initially on the homepage as updates in the Latest News section. The most up to date and important information will also be emailed home.

It has been confirmed by the Department of Social Protection that the Covid Pandemic Unemployment Payment will be treated as a qualifying payment for the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance . (As long as claimants satisfy the other criteria.) You can read more about this payment on the Citizens’ Information website

A Message from Greystones Shoebox Appeal:

‘The Christmas Shoebox Appeal is moving online!

Unfortunately, due to the effects of the COVID-19 restrictions, it is not possible to send gift-filled shoeboxes from Ireland this year.

Instead Team Hope will be asking schools, families, friends, communities and businesses to #TeamUpForTeamHope by donating gift-filled shoeboxes for children affected by poverty ONLINE.

From September 1st you’ll be able to build your own shoebox online for €20 and get creative with activity sheets, which can be coloured in and uploaded with your donation to tell the child who gets your box a little more about you!

We will need your help to spread the word because this year, more than ever, every shoebox counts’.

More detail here on the ‘Team Hope’ website . Over recent years making up shoeboxes has been a most enjoyable and important Christmas tradition in St. Brigid’s – and the students and their parents have been very generous.
