Bake Sale for Halloween

Dear Parents, After such a successful bake sale and dress up last year, St Brigid’s will again be celebrating Halloween on Thursday 25th October. The PA together with Ms Costello have agreed that all students will be allowed to dress up to celebrate Halloween in a positive way while at school. We have a few guidelines for parents and students to follow when planning for the day.

> Please select a costume for your child that is easy to walk in
> Please ensure that the costume is appropriate for the school day – i.e. age appropriate and not so scary that it might frighten our younger children. If any student does not comply with this guide, their parents will be contacted and asked to take their child home to change.
> Play weapons will not be allowed

There will be a Halloween Bake Sale in the hall on the day which will be hosted by our 6th Class students and parents. We are asking all pupils in the school to donate small cakes, buns, scones, fairy cakes, rice krispie buns…. etc for the sale (You can bake it or fake it!). Can we please request ONE donation per family. We are aware of allergies some children in the school may have and so would request that NO cakes containing nuts are sent in. Also some gluten free cakes would be most welcome.

Please bring your cakes to the school hall from 8.30am on Thursday 25th October. Cake tins will be available for collection at the end of the Cake Sale. Please ensure that your tin is clearly marked with your child’s name and classroom number to ensure there is no mix up of tins at the end of the school day.

In order for the bake sale to run smoothly, each class will be given a time slot to come to the hall to buy a few treats. We suggest that you send the money in with your child in a small bag (sandwich bag or small purse) – we would ask that a donation of no more than €5 be made per child. Please also send in a small sandwich bag with them to bring the treats home.

We also invite parents to the hall between 9. 00 am and 9.30 am to buy some cakes.

With your help, we hope the children and staff will enjoy a fun day and we thank you for your support and involvement.

Kind regards,
