Provisions for school work for your child while the school is closed.

The teachers have prepared SCHOOL WORK for your children to do during school closure. They are contacting their classes on the ‘platform’ they use most frequently and that parents are most used to. This might be Aladdin Connect, Seesaw, Class Dojo, email or Google Classroom. Please note that replicating the classroom learning environment for your child at home would not be possible. So much of the teaching and learning that occurs in the classroom is rooted in oral language e.g. direct teaching, class discussions, partner work and group work. Written work is always built upon an essential foundation of oral language. Therefore, it is not possible or relevant to provide enough ‘written work’ to keep your child busy for the entirety of what would be a school day. What we have tried to do, is provide what we feel is enough work to sustain and reinforce learning until we can return to normal. Teachers will be in touch over the length of the school closure. We will supplement this work with some further suggestions here on the school website, which we hope you will find useful. We provide this work to be helpful and not to put families under any pressure. Routine will be reassuring for your child at this time. These are suggestions only. The work provided is not compulsory.
