In the week before February midterm, a group of Transition Year students from St. David’s secondary school worked in St. Brigid’s teaching 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th research and computer skills.
This was our second time having a group of secondary school students in, to work teaching classes IT skills. This initiative is building on the success of the first visit from students from St. David’s in November.
Once again the Transition Year students have been excellent tutors: establishing a great rapport with the primary students and having great patience. As we expected, once again, they were excellent ambassadors for their school. The primary students in turn are very engaged in learning about computers from such role models.
This is another great initiative from the Parents’ Association, more specifically the ICT committee. Once again we would like to thank parents Janet, Amanda and Aisling for co-ordinating this for us.
